Chloé Harrison - Winchester & Eastleigh
My name is Chloé Harrison, and I am MYP for Winchester and Eastleigh. Thank you very much for electing me; over the upcoming year I will be representing your thoughts and opinions in this area. I particularly want to widen awareness of the UKYP amongst young people here to get a wider cross-section of views, and also focus on creating more things to do, and promoting cheaper transport to make them more accessible to everyone.

My name is Samantha Till and I am the MYP for Hart and Rushmoor. I wanted to become involved with the UKYP as I wanted to represent people of my age group and be seen to make a positive difference to today. When introduced to the idea, I found that UKYP is such a worthwhile and influential organisation, which deserves to be more recognised. I want to emphasise the importance of UKYP to the local schools and councillors in my area, whilst concentrating on campaigns, such as cheaper and more efficient transport, facility provisions for the youth of Hart and Rushmoor and changing the perseption of young people in our local media. By making these changes now, the future will be very different for our generation.
Ceri Fenwick - Hart & Rushmoor
My name is Ceri Fenwick and I am deputy member of Youth Parliament for Hart and Rushmoor. I wanted to be involved with the Youth Parliament because it provided a fantastic opportunity for me to get my views heard. It also seemed a great chance to meet some new people who have the same interests as me. In my term of office I hope to make the Youth Parliament better known – I want everyone in my area (at least) to know what it is and what it does. Therefore raising more support for the Youth Parliament and more people who want to join. I will also support our regional campaigns – ‘Mind Matters’ and Youth Provisions – however I can. The Youth Parliament means a lot to me and I will try to continue to support it when I am no longer a member.
Max Stead - Basingstoke & Deane / Test Valley North
Hi! I'm Max and I am the MYP for Basingstoke and Test Valley North. I decided to get involved with UKYP because I feel that there is room for huge improvements where the relationship between governance and young people is concerned. At present, young people do not have the opportunity to voice their opinions in the decision-making process in a way which is listened to. This often leads to badly thought-out proposals which result in very little positive impact being made to the problems faced by young people. Not good at all. Personally, I believe very strongly that young people should be encouraged to engage with the political process. However, in order to facilitate this, it is first necessary to ensure that the appropriate infrastructure is in place right from a local level, all the way up to a national level. As an elected member of the Youth Parliament I have been give both the influence and responsibility to make this a reality. Together we can really make a difference!
Alex Warwick Vesztrocy - Basingstoke & Deane / Test Valley North
My name is Alex Warwick Vesztrocy, Basingstoke & Deane / Test Valley North. Building on my confidence and experience gained last year from UKYP, I wanted to take on a larger role this year; luckily I have been able to do so becoming elected by the region as a media representative for the South East. Personally, I am passionate about issues regarding the environment, our transport systems, as well as slightly different issues such as services supporting emotional well-being of the community. I therefore am looking forward to working on our regional campaigns – ‘Mind Matters’ and Youth Provisions – over the coming year.
James Binns - New Forest & Test Valley South
My name is James Binns and I am the member of the United Kingdom Youth Parliament for the New Forest and Test Valley South Constituency. I have previously been a Deputy MYP before I was re-elected.
When it came to our elections in my constituency I campaigned on the basis that I would try to provide better leisure provision for young people and continue the work with the UKYP on their Fares Fare campaign.
So far I have succeeded in my goal. Not only has Hampshire identified Leisure provision as one of its key areas of development, we have also been successful in getting this key topic made into a South East Regional Campaign for the United Kingdom Youth Parliament. This was a campaign that I am proud to say I have led, with the help of other Hampshire D/MYPs and it is a campaign that is well on its way to be a great success!
In my constituency I am very proud to say that we have an excellent Youth Council and it is an establishment that helps myself and my deputy in any way that they can. The support network we have is excellent in helping us get to meetings and ensuring that we achieve any and all of our goals!
I continue to work for my constituents ensuring that they also have a voice in many of the major local authorities such as the Local Strategic Partnership. This has proven to be once again a great triumph for myself and constituents, as once again the LSP have identified that major change must occur in the areas of Leisure Provision and Transport.
Finally, I would like to congratulate all of us Hampshire D/MYPs for the work that we have done. When working as a team we have proven that we can achieve great things and triumph in any and all areas!
Kym Francis - New Forest & Test Valley South
My name is Kym Francis and I am Deputy Member of Youth Parliament for the New Forest and Test Valley South. I wanted to be involved with UKYP because I can share ideas and debate with like-minded people. An important issue for me in my constituency is transport and leisure access and I also think that having votes at sixteen is vital. Another thing I would like to do is increase awareness of the UK Youth Parliament and get more young people involved.
Alison Brixey - East Hants & Havant
My name is Alison Brixey and I am the current Member of Youth Parliament for East Hants and Havant. I am currently working on advertisements for a Youth Diversity forum (YDF). This is my second year working with the Youth Parliament, last year I concentrated on making UKYP known to as many young people in East Hants and Havant as possible. I attended many meetings and was involved in many campaigns. This year I am concentrating on YDF and the media as well as carrying on with Regional campaign work as last year.
